Sweet potatoes are abundant to the Philippines and are grown in almost all parts of the country. They are locally known as kamote. They are cooked in different varieties. Kamote que as they call it, is basically a fried candied sweet potato in a bamboo skewer.
Growing up, we used to eat them as a snack. You can buy them from the street vendors as well. To relive my childhood and enjoy this indigenous snack. I decided to make it. They are easy to make,as simplified as the recipe below.

Description
Skewer fried sweet potato coated with melted brown sugar.

- Peel, wash and chop sweet potatoes.

- Warm oil in frying pan up to medium heat for 3-4 minutes.

- Fry the sweet potatoes, add the brown the brown sugar on top of the potatoes while frying. The sugar will melt and coat the sweet potatoes.IMG_2564

- Fry until done, remove from oil and arrange in the bamboo skewers. Best when served warm, Enjoy!
